Look, a journal!

Hi! Thank you for being interested in writing one of my fandoms. I apologize deeply for how long it took me to get this letter up; I signed up at (almost literally) the last minute, so, er. Thank you for bearing with me and I hope I didn't make you tear too much of your hair out.

General likes and dislikes: I would like for something to happen in the fic besides introspection, but I'm not overly picky about what that something is. Some kind of actiony/adventure-y/casefic plot, fluff where they're on a date or something, smut, it's all good. (Well, for certain pairings some of these work better than others, but you know what I mean.) I would rather not have noncon, dubcon, or abuse, but I am fine with relationships that are kind of fucked up as long as both parties are equal contributors to the relationship's fucked-up-ness. I'm also okay with tragedy (she says, looking at the number of pairings she requested where at least one party dies in canon), but I am not averse to a fluffy fix-it fic now and again, either. I'm not big on mundane AUs (e.g. high school, coffee shop), but I'm all for canon divergence AUs or AUs where people are magical girls/space marines/noir detectives/cyberpunk hackers/whatever.

Basically, I'm not that hard to please, and I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever you come up with!

Fate/stay night - Rin/Saber, Sakura/Rider

Rin/Saber is one of those pairings that seems so obvious to me that I'm not sure what to say about it. They're both strong-willed and they may clash sometimes, but in the end they work pretty well together, and, well, I think there's obvious attraction there (I mean, they did have sex, albeit for Plot Reasons... much as I would otherwise like to forget that that scene ever happened). As for Sakura/Rider, Rider is so devoted and loyal to her master in HF, and Sakura seems to care about her in return, and it's really rather sweet, all things considered.

For either of these pairings, if you want to do something set after the endings where the Servant half gets to stick around, I'd enjoy that. For Rin/Saber... okay, I initially thought that Rin went off to the Clock Tower in both UBW endings and was going to say that that could be an interesting thing to play with, especially as it would involve Saber going back to her homeland after however many centuries, but I just double-checked and apparently that's only in the True Ending. Still, if you want to fudge it a little, there's that. That aside, post-canon slice-of-life stuff could be fun for them. As for Sakura/Rider, well, I think they'd both have a lot of adjusting to do post-HF, since Sakura's life has... undergone a lot of upheaval, to put it mildly, and Rider's never lived in this century outside of a Grail War, so there might be a story in them figuring out how life is supposed to go now. And for either pairing, of course, there's the possibility of weird magical shit going down again and them having to deal with it.

Of course, fic set during (any route of) canon is totally fine with me too--it's just that there's so much going on in the canon that I have trouble remembering where fic could conceivably go, if that makes sense. Also, as I said in my optional details, if you just wanna write porn, that's fine with me too. It can only be an improvement over canon.

The Night Circus - Tsukiko/Hinata

This one was always a long shot, and I don't think anyone offered it (except, uh, me), but here goes anyway:

Tsukiko was my favorite character in The Night Circus, and when the conclusion of her tragic doomed romance was briefly mentioned towards the end of The Night Circus, I kind of sat up and went "wait, I want to know more about that!" And then, of course, it was never elaborated on further. I know Hinata isn't much more than a name and Tsukiko's past is pretty well shrouded in mystery too, but I'd love to see their backstory fleshed out a little--anything about their time together, how they went from being rivals to being romantically involved, when they found out the true nature of the game they were involved in... whatever, really. There's very little in canon and all I've found fic-wise is a single drabble, so I'd be pleased to see anything about them.

Persona 3 - Mitsuru/Yukari, Minako/Aigis, Minako/Yukari, Minako/Mitsuru, Minako/Fuuka, Minako/Elizabeth

I was never enthusiastic about shipping Minato with anybody, but I came out of P3P shipping Minako with everybody. She reads as friendlier and more genuinely interested in the other people, and the S-Links have a lot of the romantic overtones left in (especially Aigis's, for which I'm convinced there's no heterosexual explanation)... but of course the game stopped short of providing actual f/f romance options, thus the desire for fic.

I don't really have specific prompts in mind, but it'd be nice to see any of them get to go on an actual date sometime over the course of the game. Or, I don't know, having a quiet moment after a battle or something. Also, the social links are so much about Minako fixing everyone else's problems that it might be nice to see things being a little less one-sided, with one of the others helping her with something/supporting her/comforting her/whatever. (I tend to see Minako as the sort who bottles things up and decides she's not allowed to have problems because everyone else is relying on her, so you could play with that, though that's just my headcanon really.) This works better for some pairings than others, though, of course--I mean, for Minako/Elizabeth I'd lean more towards wacky antics than serious emotional stuff, though if you can make the latter work, more power to you.

(On a side note, while the archive tags seem to go with Minako as FeMC's name and I've been using it here accordingly, I don't really mind what you call her as long as it's not Hamuko, which has always struck me as too silly-sounding for use in serious contexts.)

Mitsuru/Yukari, meanwhile, is a ship I've been into since playing vanilla P3. I like that their relationship is difficult and a bit antagonistic at first, but despite their differences they manage to become friends and sources of support for one another. I don't think it would be the smoothest romantic relationship, but I do think they really care about each other. I'd enjoy fic set during canon for them too, but if you wanted to explore where they end up after canon, either in the immediate aftermath or years later, that would be cool too. I should note, though, that I haven't played P4A, so I don't really know what Mitsuru is up to in that.

Dangan Ronpa - Aoi/Sakura, Mukuro/Kirigiri, Celes/Maizono, Mukuro/Maizono, Kirigiri/Celes

Aoi/Sakura is the only one of these that has a strong canon basis (though I also ship Mukuro/Kirigiri in part because of their interactions in IF), but they're all such strong personalities that could bounce off of each other in interesting ways. With Kirigiri and Celes, they're both, in their own ways, trying to get into other people's heads and not give away very much of themselves, so I could see their interactions being a subtle struggle to get the upper hand no matter what they're actually doing. As for Maizono, I'm interested in the way that her cheerful demeanor masks a singleminded devotion to her career such that even pre-murderschool she was apparently willing to do questionable things to get where she is, and I'd like to see how that might color her interactions with Celes, who has a similarly conscious disconnect between the image she presents and who she really is, and Mukuro, who, given what she says in her Free Time Events, might also understand being devoted to one course in life from an early age and doing things you might later regret in the process. Also, with Mukuro, given that she must have known, to some degree, what was coming, there's an interesting tension in her getting attached to any of the other students.

For all the Dangan Ronpa pairings, I'm fascinated with the possibilities of the two missing years, so I'd love to see a story exploring what happened during that time, whether it's an ordinary-school-days fluffy vignette or something set during the lockdown or something that explores the relationship before and after the mindwipe. Something involving regaining memories of a pre-mindwipe relationship either during the murdergame or post-canon could be interesting. I am also up for everyone-escapes AUs (if you've read IF, something based on that could be cool, especially, again, if you're doing Kirigiri/Mukuro) or non-murderschool AUs if that's something you're interested in.

Mass Effect - FemShep/Jack, FemShep/Tali, Jack/Miranda

I was very sad that I couldn't have female Shepard romance Jack or Tali in-game, but then their romances with DudeShep were apparently awful, so maybe that was for the best. Unfortunately, it's hard to give specific prompts or stuff about character dynamics when Shepard's character and background vary between playthroughs. I confess I've only ever played a Paragon Shepard (I'm bad at playing video games multiple times through, especially ones as long as the ME trilogy), so I tend to see Shepard/Tali as a pretty comfortable (and adorable) relationship where they were friends first and generally get along pretty well (although I'm sure there are unforeseen hitches that come with interspecies dating). Shepard and Jack, on the other hand, are never quite friends, I think--they respect each other, but there's always some level of tension and antagonism there, especially with a Paragon Shepard.

And speaking of tension and antagonism, Jack/Miranda! Okay, that super-smooth segue aside, I do think they're pretty different from Shepard/Jack--I think that Jack actually does like Shepard, even if she wouldn't want to admit it, whereas Jack/Miranda is pretty much a hateship. I said in the optional details section that I just want to see them work through their differences, by which I mean fight and then make out, and I think that more or less covers it, really.

I still suck at coming up with specific prompts, but I think this canon lends itself particularly well to action plots (they have to land on a mysterious planet or they get a distress signal or they get given an errand and then sidequests ensue, or whatever). But I would be just as happy with awkward space dates (for Shepard/Tali and maybe Shepard/Jack; I have trouble seeing Jack/Miranda going on anything that could be considered a date) or smut, if you would rather do that!

And, er, I realize that this is a little scattered and that I haven't put the same amount of explanation into every pairing, especially in fandoms where I requested a ton of them, but that doesn't mean I don't love all of them--just that I'm kind of in a hurry to get this done and am babbling frantically about whatever comes to mind.
